Laminate Tile Flooring Is A Smart Choice For Homeowners

With the economy in shambles, and especially the housing market, incredible numbers of homeowners are choosing to stay in their current homes instead of selling during a depressed market.  In order to improve the eventual resale value of their homes, many of these homeowners are making improvements, whether large or small, to best prepare themselves for the time when they will sell their homes.  Replacing outdated or damaged flooring is a relatively easy fix that has a big impact.  For many reasons, increasing numbers of homeowners are choosing laminate flooring, especially Laminate Tile Flooring.

The reasons for choosing Laminate Tile Flooring, instead of regular tile flooring.  These days, the most prominent seems to be cost.  While ceramic or stone tile can normally cost around three to four dollars per square foot, laminate tile floors are much less, with a reasonable price coming in around two dollars per square foot.  Savings in materials alone can add up to hundreds for even a smaller size project.  As everyone knows, cost savings have perhaps never been more important than they are right now.

Another factor in favor of Laminate Tile Flooring is the ease of installation.  While a tile floor must be installed on a sub-floor, laminate flooring is a "floating floor" which can be installed over an existing tile floor.  Anyone who has ever removed a ceramic tile floor can appreciate the benefit of this feature!  It's not just preparation that's easier, either.  Actual installation is much simpler, since the flooring simply comes in a roll or in planks.  Forget the grout, spacers, and tile saws.  Simply prepare the underlayment, center the design, and install.  The job can be done in a much shorter amount of time, and since it's much easier, it also costs less to hire professionals to do the job.  It's hard to find a homeowner who wouldn't appreciate that!

Laminate Tile Flooring is also easier to maintain than most tile floors are.  Natural stone flooring needs to be sealed and cared for, and ceramic tiles can easily chip and break.  Grout is easily dirtied and can also chip and break, leading to messes and water problems in some cases.  A laminate floor simply requires basic cleaning to keep looking its best.
