Nothing Beats The Beauty Of Solid Hardwood Floors

One of the most timeless looks in all of decorating is the beauty of Solid Hardwood Floors.  Nothing speaks to authenticity, nothing carries more warmth and charm, and nothing adds class and elegance to a room as simply as a hardwood floor does.  Hardwood flooring has endured through the centuries as a durable long-term flooring choice, and the options available today are sure to fit nearly any budget and any decorating style.

Since Solid Hardwood Floors, with proper maintenance and care, can last a lifetime, they are a reasonable investment for any homeowner to consider.  While vinyl floors, carpets, and tiles often need to be replaced due to wear and being outdated, a hardwood floor can last a lifetime or even longer.  The look never goes out of style, and it's unusual for normal wear and tear to necessitate a complete re-do, as is often the case with carpet.  Hardwood floors, when combined with an area rug, make it easy to change the look of a room by simply changing the rug, not the entire floor!  And when damage, or long term wear and tear, does occur, it's as easy to fix as re-finishing the surface of the floor.

Hardwood floors are easy to find, but there are a few factors that you should consider before purchasing your flooring materials.  First, consider the cost.  Exotic woods are usually more expensive, whereas a typical oak floor is among the least expensive to buy.  Next, consider the amount of work necessary for installation.  Do you want a pre-finished floor, or will you hire a sub-contractor to finish your floors on site?  Pre-finished floors are usually less expensive than having the floors sanded and finished after they are installed.  Obviously, installation costs are an important part of the budget and need to be considered!  Along with price, floors vary greatly in appearance.  Do you want wide planks or narrow?  Textured or smooth?  Rounded planks or flat planks?  What color finish are you expecting?  These are all questions that are best answered before the shopping trip begins, in order to make better sense out of the multitude of options available.
